Jeff Neilson and Mical Dyck
BC Bike Race 2009: Placed a solid second in a competitive mixed field, racing hard against professional and sponsored athletes, national champions and olympians. On a fun but very technical course, Jeff and Mical were consistently on the podium for each of the 7 days, and maintained their 2nd place overall througout the week behind pro's Georgia Gould and Ryan Trebon.
Jeff was in his glory surrounded by women, particularly when he happened to be pulling a paceline that included our national athletes Alison Sydor, and Catherine Pendrel. He and Mical were a smooth machine, that worked well together, and performed well.
They performed so well together, and had so much fun, they decided to keep going, and entered the TransRockies. With rain every day, this was a tough year for teams. Cold, wet, muddy conditions challenged bikes, as well as motivation. Mical and Jeff rose to the challenge, and took first each day, beating out the visiting Belgians.
Congrats to our Terrascapers Jeff and Mical, and to Trek Toronto Store for sponsoring Mical. Have a look at each of these racers' blogs for the nitty gritty details.
